Our Story
ELC was birthed out of a passion to help people find life the way it was meant to be lived. We have been built on the foundation of the Bible, which teaches real, authentic relationship with God. Come hang out with us as we grow together and find life the way it was meant to be lived!
WHAT WE BELIEVE
We believe church should be the highlight of your week!
God has called all of us to be a part of His community called the church. A vibrant community full of life, hope, love and faith. At ELC we want to walk together on this journey of life with you.
The Bible is God’s love story to humanity. It is a map that will lead you to abundant life and it holds the answers to life’s most difficult questions. The Bible is the most relevant book written on the planet and each week we look at how it applies to where we are in everyday life.
We believe God has a plan for you. There is no greater life apart from knowing Jesus. At ELC you will find out how you fit into God’s plan and how He wants to use your life to make an impact and be an influence in a world that offers no real, lasting hope.
Although ELC is anything but traditional, we believe and hold to a conservative theological position.
You can find our doctrinal statements below.
About the Scriptures
We believe the entire Bible is the inspired Word of God and that men were moved by the Holy Spirit to write the very words of Scripture. Therefore, the Bible is without error.
About God
We believe in one God who exists in three distinct persons, (Father, Son and Holy Spirit). We believe that Jesus Christ is the second member of the Trinity, (the Son of God) who became flesh to reveal God to man and to become the Savior of the lost world.
About Mankind
We believe that man was created in the image of God to have fellowship with Him, but became alienated from that relationship through sinful disobedience. As a result, man is totally incapable of coming back into a right relationship with God by his own effort.
About Salvation
We believe that the blood of Jesus Christ on the cross provides the sole basis for the forgiveness of sins. Therefore, salvation only occurs when a person places their faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as the sufficient payment for their sins.
About the Christian LifeWe believe that every Christian should live for Christ and not for themselves. By obedience to the Word and daily yielding to the Spirit, every believer should mature and become conformed to the image of Christ.
About the Church
We believe that the church is the body of Christ of which Jesus Christ is the Head. The members are those who have trusted by faith the finished work of Christ. The purpose of the church is to glorify God by making him known to the lost world.
